Finding Balance Again

Back to training after a week below average, good, but harder than expected. Balance felt off, energy low, but I made it through both sessions and counted that as enough for today.

There's something genuinely confronting about noticing your own instability so plainly. Not surprising, given the week behind me, but unsettling all the same.

Tomorrow will bring more of the same, another attempt at finding the simple joy in movement that's gone quiet since I got back to school. I'm not sure why this stretch has been harder than most. Maybe it's the shape of the review itself, unsettling something I hadn't expected it to touch. Whatever it is, I need to get clear on it soon, so the time left here doesn't slip past unused.

I've started learning Ba Duan Jin, The Eight Brocades, the last couple of days, never part of the plan, but Louis suggested it was worth knowing. Do I love it? Not yet. But there's something enjoyable in it regardless.

Over the weekend, I need to sit down and work out how the rest of this review should actually unfold.
