Fingerprints Left on the Soul
Saturday passed almost exactly as expected. A quiet day, full of just enough, and yet I can't shake the sense that something — or someone — is missing.
Normally, short breaks from the school never trouble me. I come back, rediscover the flow, settle straight into learning again. This time feels different, and I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe it's the lack of anything new to learn right now. Or maybe I'm simply missing someone who left an unexpected mark on me before leaving.
The reason matters less than the feeling itself, and right now there's only one part of this I can actually shape: how I show up to training. I think the answer is to find new within the old. Finding freshness in what I already believe I know, treating every lesson as if it's arriving for the first time, with the same excitement it once held.
I believe that's possible, simply by adjusting how I look at it. Setting aside what I already know, or at least placing it to one side, long enough to arrive at each lesson with a mind open enough to actually see it, and better still, absorb whatever truth sits quietly behind the imperfect way it's often communicated.
It's my choice to turn up, give what I have, and pull everything I can from whatever time remains here. This chapter will end soon, and I don't want to look back carrying regret.
That much, at least, is entirely up to me. And I've already made the choice.
