Nowhere in Particular
Sunday was the most unusual day of the week — not because anything happened, but precisely because nothing did, and the mind seemed entirely uninterested in being present for any of it.
My mind seemed to spend the day wandering. Drifting to the far corners of existence, pausing briefly to look around, then turning and heading in the opposite direction for no particular reason. Not searching for anything. Not arriving anywhere. Just moving, the way smoke moves — without destination, without urgency, without any real interest in being where it was.
It didn't want to be here. If I'm honest, it didn't want to be anywhere.
A quiet discomfort accompanied the whole of it — nothing sharp, nothing that could be named or addressed, just a low and formless unease that settled over the day like a storm that forgets to rain. Nothing was achieved. Nothing was gained. Nothing was lost.
And then, without ceremony, the day passed.
Sometimes that is all there is to say.
