Lonely Hearts, Video Calls

Sunday, the last day of our little mini break, came with a full schedule and still enough room to indulge in the space and quiet we both seem to love so much.

We spent part of the day at a big Chinese stage play, loud and bright and, to be honest, rather predictable. It was fun, but I’ve seen a few of these shows now, and that’s probably enough until I find something a little more unique.

The food was good all day long, as it always is in China. The city, busy as it was, treated us well, with interesting sights drifting past while we paused to watch the world go by.

My leg was still giving me trouble, so I’ll see if I can sort it out tomorrow before heading back to Wudang. It’s a thought I don’t really want to entertain right now.

It’s not that I don’t want to go back. It’s that I want to be close to her. It’s hard to put a finger on, but I simply love hanging out with Angie. Together we make the kind of peace I’ve grown to love, and I’ll miss it until we’re together again in Chen Village for the next exciting part of our training.

Until then, it will be video calls and lonely hearts.

Technology is amazing, but let’s be honest, nothing replaces being with the one you hold dear.
